Panglao Island Bohol
Panglao Island is famous for its diving locations and routinely listed as one of the top ten diving locations in the world. Numerous tourist resorts dot the southern beaches and cater to divers from around the world.
About 250 new species of crustaceans and 2500 new species of mollusks were found around the island. The discovery was the work of the Panglao Island Marine Biodiversity Project. It is claimed that Panglao Island alone has more marine biodiversity than Japan and the Mediterranean sea. Panglao Island has a number of beach resorts for sun lovers where various watersports are available. Near Panglao Island are the island of Balicasag and Pamilacan. Balicasag is considered as one of the best dive spots in the country. The waters of Pamilacan are brimming with schools of tuna, snappers, groupers, mackerel and surgeonfish. Dolphins and pilot whales can also be viewed from a distance. The popular Alona Palm Beach Resort & Restaurant is located on Panglao Island in a slightly elevated area in the middle of a tropical garden.
A 60 meter wide coconut palm grove divides the 12 luxury villas from the white beach. Almost all villas offer pool, coconut palm grove and sea view. The open restaurant, overlooking the pool and sea, offers excellent Filipino and international cuisine, prepared by an experienced German chief. A big and attractive swimming pool (450 m²) with sweet water, with integrated pool bar, recreation facilities like outdoor chess/checkers and others, forms the central part of the resort. Sun beds towels and umbrellas are available both at the pool deck and at the beach area.
How to get to Panglao Island
From Manila, take a Philippine Airlines plane to Cebu, then catch a connecting flight or a fast ferry to Tagbiliran City, the capital of Bohol.
Getting Around
Bohol’s moderate weather allows for long walks under friendly skies. As in most parts of the country, buses, jeepneys and tricycles are the main source of transportation. It’s advisable to wear light clothing. And always, when you’re hopping about, wear a smile.
Staying In
The Bohol Beach Club and the Alona Kew White Sand beach Cottages at Panglao Island offer rooms overlooking the island’s white sand beaches.

panglao is one of the best island i ever been too, the people are so friendly and i cant wait to go back there again and this time my friends are coming with me!!!
